Peter Huish - The Peterson Practice

About my practice

It’s not uncommon to feel as if something is holding you back from doing what you really want to do. Maybe you want to be more in control of your feelings – managing stress or anxiety so that you can be more successful in your work or personal life? Perhaps it’s related to losing weight, personal or sports performance or even giving up smoking?

You may well have tried a few things…perhaps you have read self-help books, listened to podcasts or focused on meditation and relaxation. All of these are perfectly valid and might have given you an outlet or some techniques that you’ve found useful.

Sometimes though, it doesn’t quite get you to where you want to be and that’s where personalised one to one help (which is impossible to get from a book or podcast) comes in.

I am Peter and I am passionate about helping people to overcome the challenges that hypnotherapy and psychotherapy can conquer.

I have always been fascinated that most of the things that hold us back or cause us problems are actually produced by our own minds and our interpretation of the world. I have seen many clients and although what I do isn’t magic I am often amazed that the results of you changing your perspective can be magical and life transforming.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses clinically proven techniques of Hypnotherapy, NLP-Neuro Linguistic Programming and CBT -Cognitive Behaviour Therapy tailored to meet your needs. By partnering that approach with Psychotherapy, I can offer a truly blended therapy that helps my clients to make significant life changes, resolve unwelcome habits and create positive thought patterns at a subconscious level in a relatively short space of time.

Making the decision to find help can be a challenge in itself – perhaps you don’t want anything ‘on the record’ that might affect your future; perhaps you have tried an approach where you talk about the problem so much that it sets you back each session, or perhaps the sessions follow almost a checklist of things to do that aren’t tailored to your individual needs.

People often come to me because I offer a confidential, ‘Off the record’ approach, I am highly qualified in multiple disciplines, I select the best approach for you and although we acknowledge any challenges we work together to a more positive future.

I love working with people of all ages from teenagers and young adults to older clients (my oldest so far has been 95). Whatever you would like to change I would be delighted to see you and start the journey with you, whether it is lifting your self confidence, managing you anxiety, helping you cope with life or taking back control.

My Practice is in the tranquil and beautiful Old Rectory Clinic in Iron Acton, South Glos. where I offer a calm and relaxing environment that is the perfect setting for you to focus on making the positive changes to your life.
